Yogi new to running — Britt, age 41
"My friends know the only thing that could get me to run is an axe murderer chasing me. That's because running has always been so hard for me. I'd end up in pain and it was never a fun experience. But I'd read about how good it can be for your mind, mood and physical health. So at the age of 41, I decided to make friends with running. I've practiced yoga for more than a decade, so Julia developed a very specific strength training program that covered whatever yoga missed, to prepare me for running. Julia gave me a really achievable running program to start with, so I quickly felt a sense of progress and accomplishment. And when I started to feel knee pain, Julia suggested several things that solved the problem. I run several times a week now and in addition to the physical benefits, I feel proud of myself for doing something I never thought I could! Bonus points: as part of her physical assessment, Julia addressed some longstanding issues I'd had with my right hip--and now it doesn't hurt anymore. Yay!"

Combating osteoporosis —  Judy, age 72
“I have osteoporosis and trained with Julia for six months to increase my strength and prevent further bone loss. My strength and balance have improved significantly. Julia’s encouragement kept me on track and helped me meet my goals.”
